Central financial investigative agencies have launched a massive series of raids targeting healthcare institutions and businesses connected to hospital management across three major states. The coordinated operation saw teams from the Income Tax Department and the Enforcement Directorate enter various medical facilities to scrutinize financial records, account books, and digital databases. Initiated during the early hours of the morning, the surprise inspections caused a stir in the medical community as investigators moved quickly to secure premises and examine transactional trails.
Widespread Operations Across Three Cities in Rajasthan
Within Rajasthan, prominent healthcare facilities located in Jaipur, Behror, and Jhunjhunun came under intense scrutiny. In the capital city of Jaipur, the Income Tax Department team arrived at Amar Medical and Research Center situated in Mansarovar. Simultaneously, actions were carried out at Park Kailash Hospital in Behror and RR Multi Speciality Hospital located on Churu Road in Jhunjhunun. Officials arrived at these medical establishments early in the morning, prompting local law enforcement personnel to be deployed at the entry and exit gates to restrict outside movement and secure the premises during the search operations.
Operations Extend to Neighboring Haryana and Punjab
The scope of this financial investigation extended well beyond the borders of Rajasthan into neighboring states. In Haryana, the Income Tax Department continued its search operations within Faridabad. Meanwhile, teams from the Enforcement Directorate conducted raids across multiple locations in Mohali, Bathinda, and Patiala in Punjab. Several business locations and properties linked to Park Mediworld were also brought under the scanner, indicating that the ongoing enforcement actions target a broader network of interconnected medical entities.
Suspicion Surrounding Hospital Acquisitions and Cash Payments
According to sources familiar with the matter, the primary catalyst for these raids is the suspicion that the Park Group acquired several hospitals in recent times through transactions involving substantial cash payments. Investigators are currently working to trace the origin of the funds utilized in these acquisitions and to determine the exact nature of the financial transactions. Furthermore, authorities have indicated the possibility of tax evasion exceeding twenty crores of rupees, though the final confirmation regarding the exact quantum of financial irregularities will only be made public once the comprehensive investigation concludes.
Technical Inspection of Server Rooms and Digital Records
The investigative teams did not limit their scrutiny to physical paperwork, placing significant emphasis on digital infrastructure as well. Officials entered the record rooms and server rooms of the targeted hospitals to examine billing systems, server logs, and electronic bookkeeping devices. At the Jhunjhunun facility, a team consisting of more than fifteen officers took charge, strictly instructing staff members not to touch the computers to prevent any alteration of data. Similar questioning of Chief Operating Officers and accounts personnel took place at the Behror facility, where financial documents were meticulously reviewed.
Scrutiny of Claims Under Government Healthcare Schemes
To ensure a thorough audit of financial health, investigators also examined documents pertaining to claims filed by the hospitals under various government-sponsored health initiatives. This included records related to the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme, the Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Yojana, and the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Authorities are cross-verifying these claims against actual treatment records to detect any potential discrepancies or fraudulent billing practices. The comprehensive review of bank accounts and tax filings aims to establish whether the financial operations of the inspected institutions complied with existing regulations.
