Janmashtami Special Train Announced Between Delhi and Ringas for Khatu Shyam Ji Pilgrims

To manage the heavy rush of devotees visiting Khatu Shyam Ji during Janmashtami, North Western Railway will operate an unreserved special train between Delhi and Ringas from September 3 to September 6. The 16-coach service will provide direct connectivity to pilgrims travelling from Delhi, Haryana, and nearby regions.

In a major relief for devotees traveling to the famous Khatu Shyam Ji temple in Sikar district of Rajasthan on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the railway administration has announced special train services between Delhi and Ringas. To accommodate the massive influx of pilgrims expected at Khatu Dham during the festival and to manage additional passenger traffic, an unreserved special train will be operated along this route. Managed by North Western Railway, this temporary service will offer direct rail connectivity for devotees coming from Delhi, Haryana, and adjoining regions. The railways will operate three trips in each direction during the Janmashtami festival period to ease overcrowding on regular long-distance trains.

Train Schedule and Operational Details

According to Amit Sudarshan, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, the special service running from Delhi to Ringas has been designated as Train Number 04415. This unreserved special service will commence operations on September 3 and run through September 5, completing a total of three trips. As per its schedule, Train Number 04415 will depart from Delhi daily at 6:50 PM and complete its journey to arrive at Ringas Station at 12:40 AM the same night. The midnight arrival time allows pilgrims to reach Ringas conveniently and proceed towards the temple premises in time for early morning worship and darshan.

For the return journey of devotees after completing their pilgrimage, the railways will operate Train Number 04416 from Ringas to Delhi. This return unreserved special train will run for three trips from September 4 to September 6. It will depart from Ringas Station at 2:00 AM at night and reach Delhi at 7:00 AM the following morning. The early morning arrival in Delhi provides convenient onward connections for daily commuters and local residents. Having a late-night departure option from Ringas ensures that returning crowds do not accumulate at the station, thereby reducing pressure on regularly scheduled trains.

Key En-Route Stoppages

According to the route schedule issued by the railway authorities, the Delhi-Ringas special train will stop at several major stations across Delhi and Haryana before reaching its destination. The journey begins at Delhi Sarai Station. En route, the train will make scheduled halts at Delhi Cantt, Gurgaon, Pataudi Road, Rewari, Narnaul, and Neem Ka Thana before arriving at Ringas Station. These intermediate stoppages ensure that devotees originating from different towns across the National Capital Region and Haryana can easily board the train without needing to travel to central Delhi terminals.

16-Coach Unreserved Composition and Last-Mile Travel

To maximize capacity and provide flexibility for spontaneous travel, the entire special train will operate as an unreserved service. Passengers are not required to book seats in advance and can board the train simply by purchasing general unreserved tickets from station counters prior to departure. The train will consist of 16 coaches in total, including 14 general class passenger coaches and 2 guard compartments. The large proportion of general coaches will accommodate high passenger volume during the peak festival days.

Upon arriving at Ringas Station, pilgrims can easily access various local transportation options to cover the remaining distance to the Khatu Shyam Ji temple. Devotees can choose to walk on foot (padayatra) as part of traditional pilgrimage customs, or utilize taxis and e-rickshaws available outside the station. The introduction of this festival special service is expected to significantly reduce congestion on regular rail routes while making the spiritual journey seamless for thousands of visiting devotees.
