A notable initiative was rolled out in the educational hub of Kota, Rajasthan, to provide financial backing to destitute and helpless women on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Shri Rajput Sabha Kota hosted a special event at Chauhan Bhavan near Kansua Chauraha in the Udyog Nagar area. During the gathering, the community distributed the tenth installment of financial pensions to 51 needy, widowed, and divorced women. Providing special relief for the festival, the organization increased the pension amount for the month.
Boosted Pension Amounts and Livelihood Support
The event marked the distribution of the tenth pension installment to 51 women in need as well as an elderly couple. Typically, eligible women receive a monthly financial assistance of 800 rupees under this scheme. However, owing to the Raksha Bandhan festival, an extra 200 rupees was added this time, handing beneficiaries a total of 1000 rupees and bringing bright smiles to their faces.
Community coordinator Ravindra Singh Hada shared that this welfare scheme was originally launched in November 2025 with a modest group of 15 women in need, a scope that has now expanded to 51 women. He emphasized that the institution's goal goes beyond mere cash handouts and aims to make women self-reliant. Along these lines, 30 women have been provided with sewing machines from October 2025 onward so they can learn tailoring and embroidery to build a permanent source of livelihood.
Expressing Gratitude Through Rakhi
Towards the end of the ceremony, the beneficiary women tied sacred threads or rakhis around the wrists of the community coordinators as a mark of their gratitude and appreciation. Lokendra Singh Rajawat and several other dignitaries and social workers were present at the event. This initiative by the social organization in Kota not only grants economic security to women but also sets an inspiring benchmark in society by empowering them.
