The food safety department in Rajasthan has intensified its ongoing campaign against adulterated and unsafe eatables under the banner of the 'Pure Diet, War on Adulteration' initiative. As part of this statewide drive, authorities are conducting surprise inspections, collecting food samples, confiscating suspicious stock, and sealing establishments that flout regulatory norms. Recent enforcement actions span across Jaipur, Phalodi, and Dholpur, reflecting a strict stance against malpractices that compromise public health.
300 Kg Suspicious Paneer Destroyed in Jaipur
In Jaipur, a surprise inspection was carried out by food safety officials at MSN Srimaya Dairy located in Jhotwara. During the check, it was revealed that paneer was stored under extremely unhygienic and improper conditions. Officials collected a sample for laboratory testing and, deeming the product unsafe at first glance, destroyed approximately 300 kg of suspicious paneer on the spot. The establishment was also sternly instructed to adhere strictly to hygiene and safe storage protocols for all food items.
Illegal Vegetable Fat Factory Busted in Phalodi
In another major operation, the food safety team raided an illegally operated vegetable fat manufacturing unit in Khichan, Phalodi. Authorities seized 690 kg of vegetable fat from the premises along with substantial quantities of raw materials, finished goods, and packing machinery. Due to clear violations of manufacturing norms, the unauthorized factory was sealed immediately, and officials began scrutinizing production and packaging documents.
Milk and Ghevar Samples Collected in Dholpur
The enforcement drive extended to Dholpur district, where teams collected food samples to verify quality standards. A sample of mixed milk was drawn from Dharmendra Dairy in Sarmथुरा (Sarmatura), while a sample of traditional Ghevar was picked up from Jodhpur Mishthan Bhandar. Both samples have been dispatched to a laboratory for detailed analysis, and further actions will follow based on the test results. Officials emphasized that these rigorous inspections are being conducted under the direct supervision of Food Safety Commissioner Dr. T. Shubhamangala, with a firm warning that strict measures against food adulteration will continue unabated.
