Preparations have reached their final stages in Jaipur as the city gets ready to celebrate the auspicious festival of Ganesh Chaturthi with great fervour. A massive influx of devotees is expected at the historic and highly revered Moti Dungri Ganesh temple during this special occasion. To prevent severe traffic congestion and ensure smooth movement for everyone visiting the shrine, the Jaipur Traffic Police has introduced major adjustments to the local transport network.
No-Vehicle Zones and Restricted Routes
Under the newly announced traffic guidelines, several vital thoroughfares surrounding the Moti Dungri temple have been designated as complete no-vehicle zones. Vehicles will be strictly barred from plying between Trimurti Circle and the JDA intersection. In addition, movement will be heavily restricted on Takhteshahi Road stretching from the RBI tri-section to the temple, as well as the route originating from Dharamsinh Circle. Only pedestrians will be permitted to move freely along these designated stretches to reach the deity.
Extensive Parking Infrastructure
To accommodate personal vehicles arriving from distant locations, authorities have established an extensive parking network. Fifteen new parking lots have been set up within a five-kilometre radius of the Moti Dungri temple. These designated zones possess the capacity to comfortably house 3880 two-wheelers and 3240 four-wheelers, significantly reducing the likelihood of gridlock on arterial roads.
Free Electric Rickshaws for Devotees
Addressing the challenge of covering the distance from parking lots to the temple, particularly for senior citizens, women, and young children, the administration has introduced a convenient solution. Complimentary e-rickshaw services will operate from all designated parking areas directly to the vicinity of the temple, allowing visitors to commute without exhaustion.
Digital QR Codes and Emergency Corridors
Leveraging modern technology to assist the public, the traffic department has installed special QR codes at prominent intersections across the city. Citizens can scan these codes using their mobile devices to instantly access accurate details regarding no-vehicle zones, route diversions, and the nearest available parking spaces. Furthermore, authorities have ensured that dedicated emergency corridors remain clear for ambulances and fire trucks.
