In a major effort to streamline the distribution of subsidized fertilizers and resolve supply bottlenecks for farmers, an online fertilizer allocation system has been launched across Rajasthan. Operating under the directives of the Agriculture Commissionerate as part of a joint initiative by the Central and State governments, this digital system is being rolled out across 12 selected districts in the state. In Tonk district, the operational rollout commenced at the Gram Seva Sahakari Samiti (GSS) in Sandeda, located within Peeplu tehsil, where farmers purchased fertilizers through the Framework for Fertilizers Sale (FFS) mobile application.
Hands-On Training and Direct Purchase at GSS Sandeda
During a specialized orientation program held at GSS Sandeda, Agriculture Officer Dr. Mukesh Kumar Jat delivered detailed training to local farmers regarding the functionalities of the FFS app. Dr. Jat demonstrated how the application simplifies the process of obtaining subsidized fertilizers while ensuring that every transaction is registered digitally. Farmers received step-by-step guidance on navigating the app, verifying allocation details, and completing purchase requests. Following the instructional session, farmers actively engaged with the system and successfully placed online orders for fertilizer using the app on the spot.
Statewide Rollout Across 12 Districts for Enhanced Transparency
The transition to an online distribution model aims to establish absolute transparency in the allocation of government-subsidized fertilizers. Under this tech-enabled setup, agriculture authorities can monitor stock availability, real-time sales records, and distribution logistics across all participating centers. The system is designed to prevent artificial shortages, curtail illegal hoarding, and ensure that subsidized supplies reach genuine farmers according to actual inventory levels. The implementation in Peeplu tehsil marks the first phase of Tonk district's integration into this statewide digital agricultural network.
