Political activity in the Bhilwara district regarding the upcoming municipal elections has reached a peak, but the buzz is currently driven by internal rebellion rather than party strategies or policy discussions. As murmurs over ticket distribution and discussions on probable candidates began to surface, the simmering discontent within the Bharatiya Janata Party broke out into the open. The situation grew severe when nearly seventy workers from the Pratap Nagar division tendered their resignations from the primary membership en masse, angered by the alleged neglect of grassroots workers in seat allocations. This collective resignation created a major stir in local political corridors.
According to available information, Sunday proved to be quite a turbulent day for Bhilwara politics. Roughly seventy office-bearers operating under the Pratap Nagar division prepared their resignation letters to express their grievances and marched directly to the residence of Pratap Nagar division president Rao Nagendra Singh. All of them handed over their resignation letters to the division president. This move by the workers clearly reflects the growing discontent brewing inside the party. They alleged that the faces whose names are currently under discussion for tickets in the civic polls do not meet organizational standards.
Serious Allegations of Neglect Toward Grassroots Workers
The workers who submitted their resignations stated that loyal soldiers who have sweated at the booth and ward levels for years are being consistently ignored. Expressing his anguish, one disgruntled party worker shared that he has been serving the party as an active BJP worker with complete honesty and loyalty for the past twenty years. He clearly stated that his frustration is not merely about missing out on a ticket, but stems from the fact that individuals who were never connected to the grassroots activities and struggles of the organization are reportedly being given preference. The workers believe that if parachute candidates or outsiders are awarded tickets, it will crush the morale of the cadre and damage the core ideology of the party.
Division President Stance and Demand for Leadership Priority
Reacting to this development, Pratap Nagar division president Rao Nagendra Singh acknowledged that around seventy workers from his division submitted their primary membership resignation letters to him, which includes several office-bearers. However, clarifying the situation, he stated that discussions and rumors regarding ticket distribution are currently just market speculation, and the party has not yet officially released any list of candidates. Despite this, the widespread anger among workers remains a matter of grave concern. The disgruntled workers have strongly urged the party high command to prioritize those workers during ticket allocation who have nurtured the organization through adverse circumstances.
