In a brazen midnight strike, unidentified burglars targeted four government quarters simultaneously within the railway residential area under the Kotwali police station jurisdiction in Alwar. The perpetrators broke the locks of these houses and fled with gold and silver ornaments, cash, and even dry fruits stored in the kitchens. The theft came to light when the employees returned to their respective quarters, sending shockwaves through the entire railway colony and raising serious concerns about local security.
Multiple Railway Homes Ransacked
Among the victims is Kavita Meena, who works as a Grade-I electrical technician in the railways and resides in quarter number 107-c. Intruders broke into her home and stole gold tops, a ring, a silver waistband, and two pairs of silver anklets. Additionally, roughly five to seven thousand rupees in cash and an iPhone charger were reported missing from the premises. In nearby quarter number 108-b, belonging to Suman Meena, thieves targeted her valuables, making off with a gold chain, locket, earrings, a silver necklace, and anklets, alongside a piggy bank containing about twenty thousand rupees in cash.
Dry Fruits and Cash Taken
The miscreants did not even spare pantry items and food provisions during their sweep. In quarter number 108-d, occupied by railway employee Gopal Singh, thieves made away with two kilograms of figs, two kilograms of almonds, and one kilogram of cashews. Meanwhile, quarter number 107-d, home to Mahesh Chand Meena, reported the theft of two silver coins and a bundle of ten-rupee currency notes. When the residents arrived, they found broken latches and locks, with belongings scattered haphazardly across the rooms.
Police Investigation and Security Concerns
Following the incident, Suman Meena lodged a formal report at the Kotwali police station. Law enforcement authorities registered a case and launched a comprehensive investigation, reviewing nearby CCTV camera footage to identify the culprits. The simultaneous break-in at four government-allotted quarters has severely compromised the perceived safety of the railway residential campus, prompting calls for heightened police patrolling and immediate arrests.
