A video from the Jayal area of Nagaur district is drawing plenty of attention these days. In Dugoli village of the Jayal assembly seat, the main road leading to the school and the temple is so caked with mud and filth that schoolchildren are struggling every single day. Eventually the children themselves stepped in front of the camera to describe their trouble and directly appealed to their local MLA and state minister, Dr. Manju Baghmar, to get the road fixed. They made the video right after a rural service camp held in the village.
In the clip, the children speak with complete innocence but full seriousness. Speaking in the local dialect, they said, “Manju Baghmar minister ji, ram ram, I fold my hands before you, please get this mud removed, we are completely fed up with it. There is a temple here, a school here, and the hospital is over there. I am truly fed up with this mud, get it removed quickly, otherwise you will not get our votes. The name of this village is Dugoli. You will not get our votes.” In plain words, the children made it clear that if the mud is not cleared, the votes will not come.
A Daily Ordeal, Children Have Fallen Three Times
Expressing their anger, the children said they have to pass through this very road every day, and they have already slipped and fallen in the mud three times. Mud is spread all around, and they get stuck in it daily. The complaint from these young children is now spreading fast on social media.
Stench and Disease Fears on the Way to Dadudayal Ji Temple
Showing the sorry state of the village's main road, the children pointed out that the well-known Dadudayal ji temple stands right nearby, and the school too lies along this same route. The entire road is filled with water and mud, giving off a stench so strong that simply walking through has become difficult. The children worried that this filth poses a serious risk of various diseases spreading among the villagers.
In a sharp tone, they told the minister that if the mud is not cleared quickly, she will not get votes from the village in the next election. The video of the children folding their hands in appeal and warning that they will withhold their votes has now become a talking point among administrative officials and politicians as well.
