Sikar district administration is designing a major infrastructure plan to tackle escalating vehicular congestion and streamline urban movement across primary corridors. Under this proposed initiative, a brand-new flyover will be constructed to link Kalyan Circle directly with the newly built overbridge on Fatehpur Road. The overall objective is to decongest one of the busiest segments of the city and introduce a thoroughly structured traffic circulation pattern.
On-Site Inspection Conducted to Assess Connectivity and Route Logistics
District Collector Ashish Modi, accompanied by Superintendent of Police Praveen Nayak Noonawat, conducted a joint ground inspection along with officials from the municipal council and the Public Works Department (PWD). The administrative and engineering teams reviewed the technical feasibility of the proposed flyover, focusing on alignment connectivity, entry-exit approaches, service lanes, and peak vehicular flow. They also reviewed operational traffic patterns on the newly opened Fatehpur Road overbridge to understand current pressure points.
Trial Run Proves Effective as Administration Focuses on Network Extension
The recently constructed overbridge on Fatehpur Road was initially opened to traffic on an experimental trial basis. This trial significantly improved vehicle movement in that sector, delivering visible relief from routine slowdowns. Encouraged by those results, administrative planners are working to expand that transit link further into the urban core by extending connectivity back to Kalyan Circle. Once built, this direct connection will allow motorists traveling from central areas to bypass congested street intersections entirely.
Implementing a Pre-Planned Traffic Model for Long-Term Growth
District Collector Ashish Modi stated that administrative measures are underway to roll out a comprehensive pre-planned traffic model across the city. Rather than merely applying temporary fixes to ongoing congestion, this forward-looking blueprint focuses on forecasting future vehicular growth over the coming years and tailoring bridge networks accordingly. The approach ensures road capacity expands ahead of future urban expansion rather than reacting after bottlenecks become unmanageable.
Target Set to Finish Lower Service Lanes by December 31
Strict instructions have been issued regarding the lower transit routes beneath the Fatehpur Road overbridge, where service lanes on all three sides remain under construction. Authorities have established a firm deadline of December 31 to complete all pending civil work on these service corridors. Ensuring that all three service roads are completely paved and ready by the end of the year is expected to streamline local neighbourhood commuting while separating local traffic from through traffic on the overbridge structure.
Budget Announcement Blueprint Awaits State-Level Sanction
The Kalyan Circle approach flyover initiative is being processed pursuant to the state government's official budget announcement. Authorities are finalizing the detailed technical project report to submit for state-level administrative clearance. Once state sanction is secured, formal procurement and construction milestones will proceed. For now, planning teams are refining the structural design, approach geometry, and operational transit blueprint. Following final approval, this corridor between Kalyan Circle and Fatehpur Road will provide a modern transit route, considerably reducing pressure on central roads.
