A grim atmosphere enveloped the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) 9th Battalion headquarters in Tonk after Hiralal, a head constable posted there, allegedly ended his life. The veteran cop's body was discovered hanging from a tree in close proximity to his official quarters within the battalion campus, triggering immediate panic among his colleagues and family.
Police Team Initiates Investigation at the Scene
Upon receiving the tragic news, senior police officers and RAC administration rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. City CO Mrityunjay Mishra and City Kotwal Bhanwar Lal Vaishnav reached the site to supervise the initial probe and ensure a meticulous investigation. A specialized MoU forensic team was also summoned to the battalion quarters to gather critical forensic clues, fingerprints, and other evidence from the scene of the incident.
Deceased Sent for Post-Mortem as Reason Remains Unclear
The police carefully retrieved Hiralal's body from the tree and rushed him to Saadat Hospital, where attending doctors officially pronounced him dead. The deceased cop, who was a native of Jhunjhunu, had his body transferred to the hospital's mortuary for an autopsy. Authorities stated that the exact motive behind Hiralal's extreme step is still unknown, as no suicide note has been retrieved yet. Further legal actions and investigations will proceed once the post-mortem report is officially released.
