In the deputy mayoral election held at the Udaipur Municipal Corporation in Rajasthan, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Dinesh Bhatt clinched a decisive victory. Dinesh Bhatt bagged a total of 56 votes, leaving his Congress opponent Laxmi Narayan Meghwal far behind with just 24 votes. A notable takeaway from the voting figures is that Dinesh Bhatt managed to secure one vote more than the newly elected Mayor Paras Singhvi, who had won the mayoral contest with 55 votes.
The Nomination and Polling Process
Following the mayoral election conducted on Monday, the municipal body held the polling process for the deputy mayor post on Tuesday. During the morning hours, nomination papers were filed by Dinesh Bhatt representing the BJP and Laxmi Narayan Meghwal representing the Congress party. After the scrutiny of the nomination papers was finalized by election officials, voting commenced after 2 PM. Once all ballots were cast, the election department conducted the counting process and formally declared Dinesh Bhatt elected as the deputy mayor.
