Serious allegations surrounding an alleged WhatsApp group in Kota have led police to arrest Manish Sharma alias Moin Khan, a resident of Vijaynagar. Complainants claim the group was openly used to discuss trapping Hindu girls and women in romantic traps, subjecting them to religious and mental exploitation, and blackmailing them with objectionable material. Manish Sharma has been named as the main accused in the case.
According to the complaint, the group allegedly carried messages about ensnaring Hindu young women through romantic relationships, getting them pregnant, and later pushing them towards religious conversion. Beyond this, there were also claimed discussions about targeting minor girls, hurting religious sentiments, and blackmailing victims through video recordings.
Allegations of foreign contacts and conspiracy
Complainant Yogesh Renwal, said to be associated with the Bajrang Dal, has alleged that the accused had for several years been in touch with certain people or organisations linked to Pakistan through platforms such as Telegram, Snapchat and Discord. The complaint also states that the accused had allegedly changed his name to Moin Khan and converted his religion. It is alleged that a conspiracy to target Hindu girls and women was being hatched through these foreign contacts.
As per the charges recorded in the FIR, the accused was involved in coaxing women and minor girls into religious humiliation, pressuring them for conversion, and preparing objectionable material. Complainants claim there were also plans to circulate such content further.
Probe into audio clips and digital evidence
An alleged audio recording linked to the case is claimed to discuss making sexual harassment videos involving married Hindu women, with religious symbols prominently displayed in them. Complainants say a large amount of objectionable digital material has been recovered from the accused's mobile phone. Police are closely examining all of this electronic evidence.
When the case was filed and under which sections
The case was registered at the Vijaynagar police station on 15 June 2026. The FIR against Manish Sharma alias Moin Khan has been filed under sections 196(1)(a), 196(1)(b), 299 and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 66, 67 and 67A of the IT Act. Police have arrested the accused, and the investigation into the entire network is ongoing. According to officials, more arrests may follow if the roles of other suspects come to light during the probe.
