On Pushkar Road in the temple city of Ajmer stands a shrine believed to be nearly 250 years old, one that locals still call by the name their ancestors gave it generations back. Known as Panch Gaon Ke Dhooni Wale Ramdev Ji, the temple has for years served as a major centre of religious faith not just for the people of Ajmer city but for the surrounding rural villages as well.
According to the temple priest, Vishnu Prasad Shastri, elderly devotees still identify the site by its old name, Dhooni Wale Ramdev Ji. He explains that decades ago the temple offered darshan of only Baba Ramdev Ji, but over time the premises were expanded. That expansion has made the complex far grander and more attractive than before, and today devotees can have darshan of several deities within the same premises. This is precisely why large numbers of devotees arrive here every single day to pray with a sincere heart, because it is believed that any wish made in the court of Baba Ramdev Ji is fulfilled.
Why the month of Bhadwa sees a surge in devotees
Priest Vishnu Prasad Shastri says religious activities of varying scale take place at the temple through the year, but the month of Bhadwa holds special significance above all others. During this period, the temple premises host a grand jagran and an evening of bhajans, drawing thousands of devotees not only from Rajasthan but from several other states as well. Through the course of the bhajan sandhya, the entire temple complex turns devotional, awash in devotional music, the glow of lit lamps and the chanting of jaikaras.

It is located on Pushkar Road, about 7 kilometres from Ajmer railway station, and can be reached easily by bus, tempo, auto or e-rickshaw.
