Students in Chhapra are carving out a path toward financial independence while continuing their education. Around ten young scholars from Bishanpur village, located in the Jalalpur block, have teamed up to launch an innovative venture. By taking on part-time work alongside their studies, these individuals are not only covering their own educational expenses but are also contributing meaningfully to their families' financial well-being through a wedding decoration business.
Building a Business Through Wedding Decor
The student collective specializes in decorating groom vehicles, designing reception stages, preparing marriage halls, setting up traditional wedding pavilions, and executing haldi ceremony backdrops. Through sheer hard work and refined decorative skills, the youth have steadily expanded their operations. Today, they own decoration assets valued at over 3 lakh rupees. Armed with this equipment, they undertake decorative assignments throughout the entire district.
An Observation That Sparked the Business Idea
The enterprise traces its origins back to an insightful moment experienced by Sunil Kumar Shah. While attending a wedding ceremony with a friend, he observed the decoration work being done by external professionals. Those workers were paid a handsome amount for just two to three hours of effort. Witnessing this sparked an idea in Sunil's mind as to why students could not undertake similar work alongside their academic pursuits.
Because Sunil already possessed a good working knowledge of decoration techniques, he rallied his friends, formed a dedicated group, and initiated the enterprise. The team gradually invested in essential inventory as they grew. Today, by offering superior decor at economical rates, the group routinely receives orders from surrounding regions as well.
Balancing Academics and Part-Time Work During Peak Seasons
Detailing their journey, Sunil Kumar Shah shared that he and his friends have been managing this decoration business for the past two years. The group comprises ten students, all of whom balance their academic responsibilities with part-time involvement in the enterprise. According to Sunil, their repertoire includes intricate stage decorations, haldi setups, marriage mandaps, and car ornamentation.
Because they provide quality service at modest prices, the group is rapidly gaining fame across neighboring localities. When the wedding season arrives, their workload multiplies to the point where they barely find a moment to eat. This initiative stands as a testament to the fact that young minds can achieve self-reliance with dedication and smart utilization of free time.
