A single fleeting moment can sometimes completely alter a person's perspective on life. A similar turning point arrived for Akash Raja, a resident of Shikohabad in Firozabad, back in the year 2018. While visiting a food joint near the Narayan intersection, he witnessed a harrowing scene where a small child approached a car occupant to beg for alms. Instead of offering any help, the person inside the car pushed the child away, causing him to crash onto the ground. This painful incident left a deep imprint on Akash's heart, making him realize that these children were not born to beg and deserved the fundamental right to education.
Replacing Begging Bowls with Books
Recalling that defining day, Akash Raja explained that he felt these children deserved a better destiny. He made up his mind right then that he would replace the begging bowls in their hands with books. Teaming up with his associate Ashish Yadav, they established an organization named Royal Krishna. Initially, they set up a modest coaching center near the joint hospital. At that point, only ten children attended classes, all of whom spent their days begging on the streets or engaging in manual labor alongside their parents. Skeptics initially doubted the longevity of the project, predicting it would fail within days, but Akash refused to give up.
Overcoming Initial Resistance and Expanding Reach
As time progressed, public trust grew steadily, and the number of students began to climb. Today, more than 300 children receive completely free education through this initiative. The foundation currently operates three separate branches dedicated to teaching impoverished and needy children. The leadership noted that the organization goes beyond mere instruction by arranging all necessary educational supplies, including notebooks and textbooks, for the students. This entire operation runs with the support of community members who frequently step forward to assist these youngsters.
Shaping Brighter Futures for Hundreds
The impact of this initiative is visibly transforming young lives, with several children who studied here now attending esteemed institutions like Delhi Public School. What began as a personal resolve has now blossomed into a shining example of community-driven change throughout the city.
