Administrative officers who rise through immense personal adversity often set powerful examples for aspirants across the country. The trajectory of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Aneg Singh, presently stationed in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh, represents a similar journey of resilience. Hailing from Agra district, Aneg Singh lost his mother during his early childhood. The personal bereavement derailed his early schooling, leading to a long hiatus of nearly 7 years before he could resume formal education. Faced with lost academic years, he had to skip two grades upon returning to school, compensating for the lost time with intense academic discipline. That sustained dedication culminated in significant success when he cleared the combined state administrative services examination on his very first attempt in 2023 to enter public service.
Academic Comeback Across Board Examinations And Graduation
Reflecting on his unconventional academic background, Chunar SDM Aneg Kumar Singh explained that stepping back into the classroom after a seven-year interruption required skipping two classes to align with age expectations. Despite that initial disadvantage, his academic performance remained consistently strong. He secured approximately 80 percent marks in his Class 10 board examinations and followed it with roughly 88 percent in Class 12. For his undergraduate studies, he pursued a degree in Statistics Honours, once again securing around 88 percent marks. He noted, however, that academic excellence in formal schooling operates on an entirely different plane compared to civil services preparation. While his school performance was solid, navigating the administrative exam required an independent, specialized preparation process from the ground up.
Self-Study Strategy For General Studies And Targeted Coaching
Regarding his roadmap for the civil services examination, Aneg Singh revealed that he opted not to take coaching for General Studies, relying entirely on structured self-study to cover the syllabus. He did enroll in coaching specifically for Geography, while handling the rest of the foundational material on his own. After successfully qualifying in the preliminary examination, he sought targeted coaching for select subjects during the mains preparation stage. Following the interview round, he secured final selection on his debut attempt, stepping directly into an administrative career.
Advice For Aspirants On Avoiding Social Media Distractions
Addressing students preparing for competitive examinations, the officer emphasized the necessity of strict digital discipline. He advised that students actively using social media must disengage from these platforms, especially as examination dates draw near. Describing social media as inherently addictive, he noted that casual browsing quickly turns into hours of continuous consumption without the user realizing how much critical study time has elapsed. For aspirants attempting demanding examinations, eliminating social media usage is an essential step toward protecting study schedules and concentration.
Field Postings From Kasganj To Mirzapur And On-Site Dispute Resolution
Outlining his administrative philosophy, SDM Aneg Singh stated that his focus remains resolving public grievances directly on the ground. In rural settings, disputes frequently stem from minor land boundary disagreements, often between brothers. According to him, resolving such issues requires officials to visit the site personally, assess the realities on the ground, and dispose of the dispute transparently. Recalling his administrative postings, he shared that his first official assignment was as a field officer in Kasganj, followed by a tenure in the Madihan tehsil of Mirzapur district. From Madihan, he was transferred to Chunar tehsil, where he has been serving for a considerable period. He emphasized that his office maintains an open-door policy to ensure that every citizen seeking administrative assistance receives fair and timely justice.
