The results of the Madhya Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector Exam 2025 have brought a wave of celebration to Bagmau village in Chhatarpur district. Twenty-two-year-old Dheeraj Ahirwar, a resident of the village, has secured the second rank in the SC category across the entire state of Madhya Pradesh. Dheeraj's father Chandrabhan works as a daily wage laborer, while his mother Pana looks after the household. The family has lived through prolonged financial hardship, and the father's labor income has been the only support keeping the household running. With three brothers and two sisters in the family, Dheeraj's success feels like a dream finally coming true.
The Whole Family Is Overjoyed
Dheeraj says that ever since the result came out, he has been overwhelmed with happiness. He says his life has changed suddenly and everyone at home is happy, even though not long ago he had gone through a phase of depression and felt completely alone. Today the entire family is celebrating together, and Dheeraj admits he still cannot quite believe that he has landed a government job.
Father Chandrabhan has been working as a laborer at other people's homes and fields for the past 30 years. It is this labor income that allowed him to raise his son and run the household. Chandrabhan says his son was always sharp in his studies, so he always believed the boy would become something that would improve the family's financial condition. The family owns just 5 bigha of land, and raising three sons and two daughters on that alone was never easy, which is why he had to keep working as a laborer to make ends meet.
Mother Pana says she does not really know what the post of police sub-inspector actually involves, but she knows her son has become something big, and that alone has brought happiness back into the house. Dheeraj's aunt also grew emotional on the occasion. She says her brother Chandrabhan has toiled in the soil his entire life to raise his family, that she has watched him struggle for years, and that his days of hardship are finally over. According to her, her brother's livelihood will now run much more smoothly.
The Sisters' Sacrifice and Support
Dheeraj's elder sister Shanti says she used to receive money under the Madhya Pradesh government's Ladli Behna Yojana, and she would hand that money over to her brother so that a shortage of funds never became an obstacle in his studies. Now that her brother has become a sub-inspector in the Madhya Pradesh Police, Shanti says this is the biggest gift she could have received from him, and she cannot express how happy she is.
His younger sister Rekha also studied alongside Dheeraj in Chhatarpur. According to Rekha, Dheeraj used to work so hard during his studies that he would sometimes even forget to eat, staying that focused on his books. She says the family has faced numerous difficulties over the years, and that is why this moment of joy has left everyone in the family emotional.
From a Village Government School to UPSC Preparation
Dheeraj's early education, up to the fifth grade, took place at the government school in Bagmau village itself. After that, he studied up to the twelfth grade in Lavkush Nagar, about 6 kilometers from Bagmau. For his graduation, Dheeraj enrolled at Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University in Chhatarpur and completed his degree there.
It was during his graduation itself that Dheeraj began preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. After finishing his BA, he returned to his village and began preparing for the MP Police SI exam while staying there. His UPSC Civil Services preparation continued alongside this, but during this period he also filled out the form for the MP Police SI exam. To prepare, Dheeraj traveled 6 kilometers from his village to a library in Lavkush Nagar every single day and studied there for hours. Staying in his village, it was through this hard work and discipline that he achieved success in the MP Police SI exam.
The Dream of Cracking UPSC Still Alive
Dheeraj makes it clear that he does not plan to stop here. Even after becoming a sub-inspector, he intends to keep appearing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, because passing that exam remains his dream. With that goal in mind, he says he will continue his studies and preparation going forward.
