The inspection took place on Thursday morning in Mallaram village within the Chevella section as part of the utility's 'Basti Bata' field visit outreach initiative. The CMD personally evaluated the execution of safety protocols followed by power sector linesmen during technical operations.
Inspection of Field Equipment and Maintenance Protocols
By ascending the utility pole, CMD Jitesh V. Patil examined the practical application of safety gear, standard operating procedures, and height safety precautions utilized during routine maintenance. The direct review aimed to identify operational gaps and ensure that technicians working on live high-voltage lines follow protective measures to prevent workplace accidents and electrical hazards.
Mandatory Compliance with PPE and Safety Directives
Following the physical inspection, the CMD reiterated that worker protection remains the enterprise's utmost priority. He directed all division officials to enforce strict adherence to safety guidelines and mandate the continuous use of Personal Protective Equipment across field operations. Emphasizing non-negotiable standards, Jitesh V. Patil stated, "Safety rules must be strictly followed." He instructed management to ensure every field technician receives standardized gear and safety training.
Six Fatalities in Suryapet Highway Collision
In a separate incident in Telangana, a severe road accident occurred early Wednesday morning in Suryapet district. A private travel bus collided with a container lorry near the Dorakunta area in Kodad mandal. The collision resulted in the immediate death of six passengers traveling aboard the bus. Local emergency services responded to the scene to carry out rescue operations and clear the highway obstruction.
Telangana Worker Killed in Ukraine Missile Attack
In another tragic event, 42-year-old V. Sudarshan Goud, a resident of Hasnabad village in Telangana's Jagtial district, lost his life in a missile strike in war-torn Ukraine on the night of August 31. Sudarshan Goud had migrated to Ukraine three months ago in search of employment and was working as a construction worker. A travel agent based in Ukraine communicated the news of his demise to the Hasnabad village sarpanch. He is survived by his wife and children. According to his cousin Venkat Rajam, the mortal remains are expected to arrive at the village within two weeks. Jagtial MLA Sanjay Kumar visited the grieving family to offer condolences and support.
