Passengers travelling between eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal are set to get a new travel option. East Central Railway has decided to run a special train connecting Mau Junction in Uttar Pradesh with Kolkata, and the full schedule has been shared by the railway zone's Chief Public Relations Officer, Saraswati Chandra. Given the demand on this corridor, the train will run once a week for several months.
Indian Railways has been steadily adding new trains across the country, but on routes where a permanent service cannot be introduced right away, special trains are being used to fill the gap. The Mau-Kolkata special is part of this same effort, and it will give several districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar a direct link to the West Bengal capital.
