A tragic accident occurred in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh when a 20-year-old youth lost his life after coming into direct contact with a high-tension electrical wire. The fatal incident took place in Parori village, located within the limits of the Jahangirpur police station. The deceased youth has been identified as Neeraj, son of Kishori Lal, who died instantly on the spot after sustaining an extreme electrical shock. The sudden death triggered immediate shock and panic throughout the village, bringing a large crowd of local residents rushing to the scene of the tragedy.
Protesting Villagers Block Khurja-Jewar Highway
Enraged by the youth's sudden demise, local villagers turned out in large numbers and organized a road blockade on the Khurja-Jewar route. Demonstrators voiced strong anger against the electricity department, alleging that official negligence and poorly maintained high-voltage power lines were directly responsible for the fatal accident. The grieving family and villagers demanded substantial financial compensation for the victim's family, alongside strict disciplinary and legal action against the negligent power department staff. The road blockade caused severe vehicular congestion along the key thoroughfare, lasting for approximately two hours.
Local MLA Intervenes and Demands Suspension of Power Officials
Upon receiving information about the road protest, local police and administrative officers rushed to the site to maintain order. Khurja MLA Meenakshi Singh also visited Parori village to meet the grieving family members of Neeraj and extend her condolences. After hearing the complaints of the local villagers, MLA Meenakshi Singh confronted the present power department personnel and strongly reprimanded them for their severe lapse. She communicated directly with senior authorities in the electricity department, demanding the immediate suspension of the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and the prompt removal of the Junior Engineer (JE) responsible for the sector.
Officials Assure Compensation and Wire Replacement to Restore Order
Administrative and police personnel held extensive talks with the protesters to diffuse the tension. Providing details about the incident, Circle Officer (CO) Khurja Shobhit Kumar stated that a young man had died due to electrocution in Parori village under the Jahangirpur police station area, which led villagers to assemble and block the main road outside the village. CO Shobhit Kumar confirmed that the electricity department has agreed to provide financial assistance to the deceased's family and committed to replacing the old, dangerous power lines in the village. Following these formal assurances, the villagers agreed to clear the road and end the demonstration. He added that the law and order situation at the site is currently peaceful and normal, with further legal proceedings underway.
