A joint enforcement squad comprising the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) and local district administration brought down an unauthorised residential layout being carved out in the Tronica City area on Tuesday. Backed by heavy police deployment, bulldozers and earthmovers levelled illegal infrastructure across several bighas of land to curb unplanned land subdivision and unauthorized construction in the industrial and peri-urban corridor.
Developers Carved Plots Without GDA Approval
In this pocket adjacent to Tronica City, property dealers and local colonisers had purchased tracts of farmland directly from farmers and launched an unauthorised real estate layout without securing statutory approvals. To attract prospective buyers, the promoters had already laid paved interior roads, constructed boundary walls, and installed electricity poles across the tract. Upon receiving formal complaints regarding the unapproved layout, the GDA served stop-work notices ordering the promoters to halt all activity immediately. However, the developers disregarded the regulatory warnings and continued on-site work, prompting the enforcement wing to execute an on-ground demolition operation.
Police Force Deployed as Heavy Machinery Flattened Layouts
The anti-encroachment drive commenced early Tuesday morning when GDA enforcement officers, executive magistrates, and a substantial contingent of police personnel arrived at the site. Security arrangements were positioned across key access routes to prevent untoward incidents or organized resistance from local property cartels. Heavy excavators and bulldozers then demolished all constructed boundary walls, ripped up the freshly laid paved roads, and dismantled utility installations spanning several bighas of land. The administrative team maintained that no unauthorized construction would be tolerated within the notified development zone.
Enforcement Drive to Continue Across Peri-Urban Belts
Following the operation, administrative officials asserted that the anti-encroachment campaign across Tronica City and adjoining sectors will remain ongoing. Authorities highlighted that unapproved colonies distort the planned growth of the city and create major infrastructural deficits for future residents. Enforcement teams have been instructed to conduct routine field surveys to detect, document, and demolish similar illegal land developments at their nascent stages.
Administration Cautions Property Buyers Against Fraudulent Schemes
The district administration also issued an advisory urging the public to exercise thorough due diligence before putting their hard-earned savings into residential land deals. Buyers have been advised to verify whether any housing scheme or plotting project holds valid layout approval from the Ghaziabad Development Authority before signing agreements or handing over advance payments. Purchasing land in unapproved layouts exposes investors to significant financial losses and legal troubles when enforcement authorities inevitably step in to clear irregular developments.
