A high-profile murder case in Asani village under the jurisdiction of Hussainganj police station in Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh, has been cracked by local law enforcement. The violent confrontation, rooted in a longstanding feud outside a liquor outlet, resulted in a man losing his life, prompting an intensive manhunt that ultimately led to the capture of the primary suspects.
Dispute and Shooting at the Liquor Outlet
The tragedy unfolded on the night of August 29 at approximately 10 PM when a heated argument broke out in front of a local liquor shop. The altercation began following a verbal spat between Vaibhav Tiwari and the sons of sales-man Govardhan Nishad. The situation escalated rapidly into a physical brawl, during which the management side opened fire using a licensed firearm, fatally striking Manish Tiwari alias Manish on the spot.
Protests by Family Members and Initial Action
The incident triggered widespread outrage among the victim's family members and local residents. On August 30, grieving relatives placed the body on the Lucknow-Fatehpur highway, blocking traffic and demanding the immediate arrest of the prime culprits. Facing mounting pressure, law enforcement authorities initially apprehended the shop salesman Govardhan Nishad as the investigation gained momentum.
Arrest of the Main Accused in Lucknow
Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik had announced a cash reward of 25,000 rupees each for the absconding main accused, Aman Singh and Manu Singh, alongside strict directives to act against anyone providing them shelter. Acting on intelligence, a police team successfully tracked down and arrested the two rewarded brothers on August 30 from Nizampur Malhaur in the Chinhat area of Lucknow. During interrogation, the suspects revealed they had handed over the firearm to Pankaj Pandey for concealment and were hiding in Lucknow under the protection of Ashutosh Tiwari and Ashutosh Singh alias Chetan Singh.
Recovery of Vehicle and Ongoing Raids
Authorities have successfully recovered the vehicle utilized during the commission of the crime, while efforts to locate and seize the murder weapon remain ongoing. Police teams are currently conducting raids to apprehend the remaining co-accused whose names emerged during the probe, including Pankaj Pandey, Ashutosh Singh alias Chetan, Ashutosh Tiwari, and Sangeeta Devi.
