The Uttar Pradesh government has imposed a complete ban on the manufacture, storage, distribution, and sale of analog paneer, cream, ghee, chena, and khowa across the state. Authorities in Lucknow and all other districts have received strict directives to enforce the order immediately to curb the circulation of synthetic milk products.
Reason Behind the Ban on Analog Dairy Products
Analog dairy items are manufactured using vegetable fats, starches, and chemicals as substitutes for genuine milk fat. While these products closely mimic the appearance and texture of real paneer or khowa, they lack actual dairy nutrition and pose health risks to consumers. The Food Safety and Drug Administration initiated this measure to protect public health from deceptive food items.
Enforcement and Strict Inspection Measures
Food safety officials have been instructed to conduct dedicated inspection drives at manufacturing units, wholesale markets, and retail outlets across Uttar Pradesh. Legal proceedings under the Food Safety Act will be launched against vendors and producers violating the ban, ensuring that households receive unadulterated dairy products.
