A woman jumped to her death from the multi level car parking in Noida's Sector 18 on Saturday night, triggering panic among people present at the busy market complex. Sector 18 is counted among the busiest shopping hubs in the Delhi-NCR region, drawing large crowds from across the capital every day, which made the incident all the more unsettling for those nearby.
Who was the victim, what her family said
Police identified the deceased as Situ Talwar. When officers reached out to her family, relatives said she had been battling depression for a long time and had previously attempted to take her own life on two occasions. Police have registered the case and are investigating the exact circumstances that led her to the parking structure that night.
A similar tragedy had struck Sector 100 recently
This is not the first such incident in Noida. Not long ago, a woman died by jumping from the 18th floor of a well known society in Sector 100, an incident that sparked chaos in the complex. She was identified as Parul Agarwal, 46, a resident of the same society. Police reached the spot as soon as the news broke and sent her body for post mortem examination.
According to the information available, the incident took place around 9 am and Parul Agarwal died within minutes of the fall. Those around her said she had been mentally disturbed. Police also questioned her husband, who told them his wife was suffering from depression and had been under prolonged mental stress. The family was living on rent in that society.
Sector 104's posh society had also witnessed a similar case in January
A similar case had emerged from Noida in January 2026 as well. In a posh society in Sector 104, a man named Anil Garg died by jumping from the 17th floor. He left behind a suicide note in which he wrote that he was troubled by his life. These three incidents, occurring within just a few months, have raised serious concerns about mental health in Noida.
