During the later stages of life, when loneliness frequently becomes a source of tears and silence, finding a companion to share joys and sorrows feels like nothing less than a boon. To provide love, respect, and companionship once again to senior citizens who have lost their spouses, are divorced, or are living alone, the Anubandh Foundation is launching a unique initiative in Dehradun. Scheduled for October 25, 2026, at Aggarwal Bhawan, this senior citizen lifepartner introduction summit transcends all boundaries of religion and caste, offering elderly individuals a golden opportunity to leave loneliness behind and begin a peaceful new chapter.
Applications Open for Senior Citizens Across the Country
Anubandh Foundation member A. K. Agarwal stated that while people are familiar with mass wedding ceremonies where multiple couples are united with their partners by various governments and social organizations, his foundation has created a dedicated platform specifically in Uttarakhand capital Dehradun for the elderly to choose their life partners. Senior citizens from all over the country are eligible to apply for this. He mentioned that previously, a lifepartner mela was organized in Surat, Gujarat, which received 800 applications nationwide, resulting in 10 successful matches finding their partners. He added that the foundation has successfully organized numerous such conventions across the country to alleviate the loneliness of the elderly.
An Event Free from the Constraints of Religion and Caste
A. K. Agarwal explained that the key feature of this upcoming Sunday convention at Aggarwal Bhawan in Dehradun is that there are no restrictions regarding religion or caste. He emphasized that in old age, people simply need a true companion who stands by them through every pain. Because a partner is necessary during the final phase of life, this event is being organized in Dehradun for the very first time. The Anubandh Foundation creates this platform to help individuals living lonely lives in their twilight years find a suitable partner.
Over Two Hundred Couples Successfully Matched So Far
Applications for this program are invited from across the nation. For this particular session, 70 elderly women and 200 elderly men were invited to the summit, out of which 10 couples successfully found their life partners. Loneliness in old age remains a challenge for every senior citizen. The Anubandh Foundation has successfully united nearly 200 couples with their life partners so far. The organization has established a systematic process for this, wherein individuals first contact the institution, and after completing necessary steps, the couples are united.
The Search for a True Companion in the Twilight of Life
Sharing her perspective, an elderly woman named Savita Devi shared that following her husband's demise, her son moved to Delhi for employment, leaving her living entirely alone in Dehradun. She noted that finding a compatible companion would make living out the remainder of her life much easier. Expressing her heartfelt desire, she stated that both her kidneys have failed, and her final wish before closing her eyes forever is to find a life partner who shares the same mindset as her late husband.
