There is major relief in store for the lakhs of young people in Rajasthan preparing to become government school teachers. The state Public Service Commission has sharply increased the number of posts in its senior teacher recruitment. Aspirants had been demanding more vacancies for a long time, and that demand now appears to have been met. The decision opens the door for far more candidates to enter government service than before.
The recruitment was originally announced for 10 subjects with a total of 6,500 posts. The secondary education department has now added another 4,037 posts to it. With this increase, the total number of vacancies in the recruitment has gone straight from 6,500 to 10,537. The addition of so many posts has triggered a wave of excitement among aspirants.
4,037 New Posts Change the Whole Equation
The recruitment is being conducted under advertisement number 07/2025-26. When it was first announced, 6,500 posts had been fixed across 10 subjects. After the additional posts came in from the secondary education department, that figure has risen to 10,537, meaning a total of 4,037 new posts have been folded in. For young people grinding away at competitive exam preparation, this directly means the chances of selection are now much higher than before. Aspirants had been pushing for more posts for quite some time and had also been running sustained campaigns on social media over the issue.
Fresh Category-Wise Breakdown Released
Along with the increase in posts, the commission has also issued a new category-wise classification. For this, correction notice number 10/2026-27 has been uploaded to the commission's website. By going through this revised breakdown, candidates will be able to easily see how many posts are available in each category and each subject. The commission has also clarified that all other terms and rules of the recruitment process will remain in force as before. This means there has been no change in the application, eligibility, selection process or other provisions.
Aspirants Rejoice as Hopes of Selection Rise
With the rise in the number of posts, there is a cheerful mood among aspirants. Many candidates believe this will ease the pressure of competition to some extent and give more people a chance to land a government job. The commission has asked aspirants to carefully read the correction notice available on the official Rajasthan Public Service Commission website to learn the new category-wise details. For now, all other arrangements linked to the recruitment will continue as before.
