A fatal aviation accident occurred on Wednesday morning in the Mount Ololokwe area of Samburu County, located in central Kenya. A charter helicopter carrying seven individuals crashed during a luxury safari flight, claiming the lives of everyone on board. Among the victims was Michel Sensi-Contugi, the head of Ecuador's national intelligence agency, along with five citizens of the United States. The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority verified that seven persons were aboard the aircraft when the incident took place.
Details of the Safari Flight Operation
The aircraft involved in the crash was operated by Lady Lori Helicopters. Passengers aboard the flight were guests of the luxury safari tour provider &Beyond, traveling across the scenic region. Samburu County Police Commander David Nkoru confirmed the tragedy, stating that search teams found no survivors among the seven occupants at the crash site.
Investigation Launched into Cause of Crash
Aviation safety officials and law enforcement authorities immediately secured the remote crash zone near Mount Ololokwe. The exact circumstances and cause of the crash remain undetermined.
