In response to mounting public complaints over covert recording risks, the company is preparing to launch a version that eliminates optical sensors entirely.
The Luna Architecture and Voice-First AI
The upcoming hardware model, developed under the codename Luna, shifts the user interaction model entirely toward audio interfaces. Instead of photographic and video capture hardware, the frame integrates six specialized microphones designed to facilitate clear conversations with the corporate AI chatbot and Muse, the company consumer AI agent. Wearers can engage with the assistant platform either through direct speech or by pressing a dedicated activation button positioned along the side of the frame.
Possible Debut at Annual Menlo Park Gathering
The new camera-free wearable could make its official debut as early as next week during Meta Connect, the company annual hardware and developer conference hosted in Menlo Park. Introducing a camera-less tier allows the hardware division to appeal to buyers who want conversational computing without navigating social stigma or facility bans common to recording eyewear.
