In the Kanak Valley of Mastung district, an armed group attempted an assault on a security checkpost. A separate intelligence-based operation was launched in the Josak neighborhood of Turbat district. Acting on actionable inputs regarding the hideouts of armed elements, security forces cordoned off the area and eliminated 2 militants in the ensuing encounter. Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Quetta, attackers riding motorcycles attempted to storm the Aghbarg police station early Wednesday morning. Alert police officers repelled the assault through swift counteraction, killing 5 militants at the perimeter.
TTP Link Established and Deadly Attack on Polio Guard Unit
Authorities confirmed that the individuals involved in the attack on the Aghbarg police station belonged to the proscribed militant group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). A substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from their possession following the clash. In a separate violent incident in Nushki district, unidentified gunmen ambushed a security detail protecting a polio vaccination team, fatally shooting 2 police officers before fleeing. No group has claimed responsibility for the targeted killing of the health escorts.
