Ducati has officially introduced its updated Hypermotard V2 and the premium V2 SP variant to the Indian market. The base Hypermotard V2 begins at an ex-showroom price of Rs 16.53 lakh, while the higher-end V2 SP version carries a price tag of Rs 20.78 lakh ex-showroom. These model year 2026 variants bring several significant updates aimed at performance enthusiasts.
Engine Performance and Mechanical Upgrades
The primary mechanical highlight of both new variants is the incorporation of an all-new 890cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine. This powerplant generates 120.4 bhp of power alongside 94 Nm of torque. Variable Intake Valve Timing technology is integrated into the engine architecture to deliver a smooth response across the entire rev range, making the powertrain more refined and potent than its predecessor.
Chassis Redesign and Weight Reduction
Engineers have completely redesigned the frame structure to achieve substantial weight savings across the lineup. The standard V2 variant sheds 13 kilograms, while the V2 SP version loses 14 kilograms compared to older models. This lighter chassis architecture significantly enhances the agility and quick handling characteristics expected from the Hypermotard nameplate.
Suspension Configurations
Suspension duties on the standard Hypermotard V2 are managed by fully adjustable 46mm upside-down Kayaba forks paired with a preload and rebound adjustable Kayaba monoshock. Stepping up to the V2 SP rewards riders with premium Öhlins NIX30 48mm inverted forks and a fully adjustable Öhlins STX46 monoshock, engineered to deliver superior control on both public streets and closed race tracks.
Wheels, Tires, and Braking Hardware
The V2 SP variant rides on forged 17-inch aluminum wheels at both ends, wrapped in sticky Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tires and stopped by Brembo M50 calipers. Meanwhile, the standard model utilizes 17-inch cast light-alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires and relies on Brembo M4.32 braking calipers to scrub off speed effectively.
Electronics Suite and Availability
Modern rider aids are standard equipment across both models, featuring a 5-inch TFT console and a comprehensive six-axis IMU electronics suite. Traction control, wheelie control, engine break control, and a quickshifter enhance both safety and entertainment during rides. The motorcycles are currently available through authorized Ducati dealerships nationwide, with final on-road pricing varying depending on local state taxes.
