Mini India has officially introduced the limited-run Stardust Edition of its convertible lineup in the Indian automotive market. Positioned specifically for buyers seeking open-air driving with high exclusivity, this special edition carries an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 62.90 lakh. The vehicle is imported directly to India as a completely built unit and is available exclusively for booking through the official Mini India online portal. Commanding a premium of approximately Rs 3.9 lakh over the standard Cooper Convertible, this iteration concentrates on distinct visual modifications and unique cosmetic enhancements rather than mechanical upgrades.
Distinctive Exterior Styling and Soft-Top Architecture
The standout characteristic of the Stardust Edition lies in its external aesthetic presentation. It is finished in a Sparkling Copper Grey exterior shade that mirrors the tones of a twilight sky. Contrast styling is highlighted by the outside rearview mirror caps and 18-inch JCW Rally Spoke alloy wheels, both finished in Vibrant Silver. The fabric roof includes the Mini Yours treatment, displaying the signature Union Jack graphic pattern across the top.
The electrically operated soft top operates with high speed and convenience. The roof requires 18 seconds to fold open completely and 15 seconds to close shut. Drivers can operate the roof mechanism while moving at speeds of up to 30 km/h. Storage capability changes based on the roof position, offering 160 liters of boot capacity when open and expanding to 215 liters when the roof is fully closed.
Cabin Amenities and Technology Suite
Inside the cabin, the vehicle features a central 9.4-inch circular OLED touchscreen interface powered by the Mini Operating System 9. The infotainment experience is complemented by a premium Harman Kardon surround audio system, a Head-Up Display, wireless smartphone charging, and full integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Additional interior features include a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and a rearview parking camera. Occupant protection is supported by a comprehensive safety suite comprising Level 1 ADAS capabilities, Dynamic Stability Control, anti-lock brakes, tire pressure monitoring, and three-point seatbelts assigned to every seating position.
Powertrain Specifications and Road Performance
Underneath the hood, the Stardust Edition houses a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder petrol engine. This motor generates an output of 204 horsepower alongside a peak torque rating of 300 Nm. Power delivery is handled by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission sending drive to the wheels.
In terms of acceleration metrics, the convertible sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, reaching an overall top speed of 240 km/h. According to official efficiency data, the vehicle achieves a fuel consumption figure of 16.82 km/l. Offered in strictly limited numbers, the Stardust Edition targets buyers looking for a distinct premium compact convertible.
