Hero Vida Tops 1 Lakh EV Sales In India In H1 2026, Then Rolls Into Nepal As Its First Export Market

Hero MotoCorp's Vida sold 1,02,097 electric scooters in India in H1 2026 and has now launched in Nepal, its first overseas market, in partnership with Chaudhary Group's CG Motors.

Hero MotoCorp's electric scooter brand Vida has crossed a big sales milestone in India while also making its international debut. Between January and June 2026, the brand sold 1,02,097 electric scooters in India, and it has now entered Nepal as its first overseas market.

Monthly Sales Kept Climbing In India

Vida's monthly numbers rose steadily through the first half of the year. The brand sold 13,830 units in January, and volumes kept building from there. May was the first month sales crossed the 20,000 mark, with 20,130 units sold, and June pushed that further to a fresh high of 20,416 units. This sustained domestic momentum is what appears to have given Hero the confidence to take Vida abroad.

Nepal Becomes Vida's First Overseas Market

Hero MotoCorp has picked Nepal as the first country to launch Vida outside India. Sales and distribution there will be handled through a partnership with CG Motors, part of the Chaudhary Group. The tie-up has brought the VX2 Plus, VX2 Go and Dirt.e K3 to Nepal. Hero has already been selling its motorcycles and scooters in the country since 2014, so this Vida launch builds on an existing network rather than starting from scratch.

What The VX2 Plus And VX2 Go Offer

The VX2 Plus comes with two removable 2.2 kWh batteries that together add up to 4.4 kWh of capacity. Hero claims a real-world range of 140 km and a top speed of 90 km/h, with the scooter able to go from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.1 seconds. On a DC fast charger, it can go from 0 to 80% charge in 65 minutes. The VX2 Go, meanwhile, gets a single removable 2.2 kWh battery, with a claimed range of 75 km and a top speed of 70 km/h. Both models support home charging on a standard 5A socket and come with connected features such as navigation, geo-fencing, call alerts and OTA updates.

Dirt.e K3 Is Built For Young Riders

The third model in the lineup, the Dirt.e K3, is an electric off-roader aimed mainly at children between 4 and 10 years old. It runs a 350W motor paired with a 360Wh removable battery, and depending on the terrain and mode selected, it can run for up to three hours. For safety, it includes app-based parental controls that let parents limit the scooter's speed and acceleration.

Nepal Pricing Is Far Higher Than India

All three models cost considerably more in Nepal than in India. The Dirt.e K3 is priced at NPR 1,99,900, roughly ₹1.24 lakh, in Nepal, against ₹69,990 in India. The VX2 Go costs NPR 2,99,900, about ₹1.86 lakh, in Nepal compared with ₹99,490 in India. The flagship VX2 Plus is priced at NPR 3,99,900, close to ₹2.48 lakh, in Nepal, while the same scooter sells for ₹1.44 lakh in India.

Hero Leads At Home But Still Trails On Exports

Across its full two-wheeler range, Hero MotoCorp remained the number one seller in India in June 2026 with 5,02,890 units, though Honda (4,68,956 units) and TVS (4,11,014 units) stayed close behind. On exports, however, Hero continues to lag its rivals. It exported just 38,269 units in June, compared with 2,22,439 units for Bajaj, 1,54,403 units for TVS and 59,325 units for Honda. For the April-June quarter as well, Hero's total exports stood at 1,05,206 units, well below its competitors. Against that backdrop, Vida's entry into Nepal is being seen as a meaningful step toward strengthening Hero's export business.
