Major automobile manufacturer Bajaj Auto has released robust business figures for August 2026, showcasing impressive growth across both domestic and international markets.
Overall Sales and Export Growth
During the month under review, the company's total sales surged by 28 percent year-on-year to reach 5,35,764 units, compared to 4,17,616 units sold in August of the previous year. The primary driver behind this significant expansion was a sharp 51 percent jump in exports, with total shipments touching 2,80,056 units. Meanwhile, domestic sales also witnessed a positive trajectory, growing by 10 percent to 2,55,708 units.
Performance of Two-Wheelers and Commercial Vehicles
Segment-wise, two-wheeler sales registered a 30 percent increase to stand at 4,43,748 units, while commercial vehicle sales grew by 22 percent to record 92,016 units. Demand for two-wheelers remained particularly robust across overseas markets, providing strong support to the overall numbers.
Detailed Breakdown of Two-Wheeler and Commercial Segments
Focusing specifically on the two-wheeler segment, total sales climbed 30 percent to 4,43,748 units. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew by 10 percent to 201,898 units, whereas exports recorded a remarkable 53 percent surge to reach 241,850 units. Strong overseas demand played a major role in bolstering the overall volume.
The commercial vehicle segment also reported healthy growth, with total sales rising 22 percent to 92,016 units. Domestic sales in this category increased by 11 percent to 53,810 units, while exports jumped 39 percent to 38,206 units. Demand for three-wheelers remained stable across both domestic and foreign markets.
Performance Over the First Five Months of the Fiscal Year
During the first five months of the current financial year spanning April to August 2026, Bajaj Auto's cumulative sales reached 24.49 million or 24.49 lakh units, marking a 29 percent increase over the 18.95 lakh units recorded in the corresponding period last year. During this timeframe, two-wheeler sales grew by 29 percent and commercial vehicle sales by 28 percent. Domestic sales rose 13 percent to 11.82 lakh units, while exports witnessed a 50 percent growth to hit 12.67 lakh units, reflecting a balanced improvement in both domestic consumption and overseas reliance.
