According to official monthly figures, the automaker dispatched a total of 54,396 vehicles during the month. Comparing this with the 44,001 units delivered in August 2025 reveals a substantial year-on-year increase of 24 percent, solidifying the brand's competitive posture in the domestic passenger vehicle segment.
Creta Leads Sales Chart With Comprehensive Feature Package
The Hyundai Creta maintained its status as the company's highest-selling model in India. For August 2026, sales of the flagship SUV reached 16,288 units, reflecting a 2 percent growth compared to the 15,924 units recorded in August 2025. Ex-showroom pricing for the Creta ranges between ₹10.91 lakh for the entry-level trim and ₹20.11 lakh for the top-spec variant.
From a design perspective, the vehicle incorporates a bold parametric grille, signature LED DRLs, and connected tail lamps. Inside the cabin, it features dual 10.25-inch display screens, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats. High-end equipment includes wireless smartphone charging, a 360-degree camera system, and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) on select variants. Standard safety kit across all versions encompasses 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Engine choices include a 1.5-liter petrol engine delivering 115PS, a 1.5-liter diesel producing 116PS, and a 1.5-liter turbo petrol making 160PS. Official fuel efficiency figures span from 17.4 kmpl to 21.8 kmpl depending on the powertrain configuration.
Sub-Compact Lineup Highlights: Venue and Exter Record Major Gains
Positioned second on the sales leaderboard was the Hyundai Venue, which saw dispatches of 11,365 units in August 2026. This marks a 40 percent year-on-year jump from the 8,109 units sold during the corresponding period in 2025.
The Hyundai Exter micro SUV finished third overall, registering sales of 8,157 units last month. That performance represents a sharp 61 percent expansion over the 5,061 units sold in August 2025, demonstrating strong consumer reception in the entry SUV category.
Sedan and Hatchback Dispatches: Aura and Grand i10 Complete Top Five
The Hyundai Aura sedan secured the fourth position in the monthly volume table with 6,685 units sold. This was a 25 percent climb from the 5,336 units registered in August 2025. Meanwhile, the Grand i10 hatchback took the fifth spot, logging 5,342 units for a 37 percent rise compared to 3,908 units in the previous year's matching month.
Performance of i20, Alcazar, Verna, IONIQ 5, and Tucson
Rounding out the remaining model portfolio, the Hyundai i20 generated 5,165 unit sales in August 2026. Higher-end models faced demand headwinds: the Alcazar recorded 856 units, while the Verna sedan accounted for 529 units. Dispatches for the premium electric IONIQ 5 dropped to just 9 units. Notably, the flagship Tucson SUV recorded zero sales during the month, failing to secure a single buyer.
