Tata Motors' entire passenger car range is set to become more expensive from July 1. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) announced on Friday that it will raise the prices of its passenger cars by 1.5 percent. According to the company, this increase will apply to both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles (EV). TMPV shared this information through an exchange filing on Friday.
The Reason Tata Motors Gave for Raising Prices
In its communication to the stock exchanges, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles said the price hike is being carried out to partly offset the impact of rising input costs and persistent inflation. The company stated in its exchange filing, "While Tata Motors is absorbing a significant share of these increased costs itself, a part of it is being passed on to customers through this adjustment."
Prices Were Also Raised on April 1 This Year
The company added that the increase will vary from model to model and variant to variant, so as to ensure that the overall value of each vehicle is maintained. According to a PTI report, Tata Motors had last raised the prices of its vehicles on April 1 this year.
