A sub-inspector posted in Bihar's Jamui district is facing serious allegations of marrying a woman he met on Facebook and then abandoning her by citing a caste difference. The woman, who hails from the Munger area, submitted a written complaint to the Jamui Superintendent of Police on Friday evening, demanding action against him.
Sub-inspector at Chandradeep police station accused
According to the woman, sub-inspector Kundan Krishna, who is posted at Chandradeep police station in Jamui district, called her to different hotels over the past six months and had physical relations with her. She alleges that whenever the subject of living together came up, he would reassure her and put it off. When she eventually insisted, he told her their relationship could not continue because they belonged to different castes.
From a Facebook friendship to a temple wedding
The woman said she first got to know Kundan Krishna on Facebook around a year ago. As conversations continued, the acquaintance turned into a relationship, and the couple married at Chandika Sthan in Munger on 13 February 2026. She said the physical relationship did not stop after the wedding either, with Krishna continuing to call her to hotels in Munger and Begusarai.
Offered five lakh rupees to leave, then threatened at the police station
The woman alleges that when she pressed him to live together and acknowledge the marriage, he told her that being from different castes made it impossible for them to stay together, and offered her five lakh rupees to quietly walk away. When she objected, she says she was forcibly taken to Chandradeep police station, where she was threatened. She further alleged that other police personnel present at the station also abused her and drove her away. Following this, she approached the Superintendent of Police seeking a fair investigation and action.
Sub-inspector denies the allegations
Responding to the allegations, Kundan Krishna said, "I have not married anyone, and the allegations against me are false." He added that he is currently unwell and cannot say anything further on the matter for now. There has been no official statement yet from the Jamui police, and the case remains under scrutiny.
