Upon receiving news of the incident, Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor visited the victim's residence in Madhubani to express his condolences. After consoling the grieving family, he assured them of full support in their fight for justice. Prashant Kishor then accompanied the family members to meet the Madhubani Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to formally raise their concerns.
During the meeting with the top police official, Prashant Kishor pressed for a transparent and unbiased investigation into the custodial death. He brought the family's serious grievances to the SSP's attention, highlighting their claim that Roshan Yadav was apprehended on May 27, yet no formal written notice of his arrest was handed over to his family members.
Family Alleges Police Assault at Rahika Station and Suspects Foul Play
The family members have leveled serious allegations against the personnel of Rahika police station, claiming that Roshan Yadav was illegally detained at the station for several days following his arrest and subjected to severe physical assault. Based on these circumstances, the family suspects foul play and believes that his death inside the jail may be a case of murder rather than suicide.
