A brutal murder case that initially appeared to be a highway robbery and kidnapping in Bihar's Motihari district has been solved by local law enforcement within 12 hours. After completing the transaction at the bank, Alam Hussain instructed his mother to wait briefly at Sevraha while he finalized his preparations. He then picked her up on the borrowed two-wheeler and headed toward Khori-Pakad chimney along the route to their village. Upon reaching a secluded patch near a sugarcane field, Alam Hussain halted the vehicle and told his mother that a sack of rice had been left inside the field for them to fetch. As Najma Khatoon walked into the dense sugarcane stalks to retrieve the bag, her son ambushed her from behind, repeatedly stabbing her with the dagger knife until she succumbed to her injuries.
Fabrication of Robbery and Abduction Scene
Immediately after committing the crime, Alam Hussain retrieved the Rs 45,000 from his deceased mother. To conceal his involvement, he discarded the blood-covered weapon, along with personal items and footwear belonging to both himself and his mother, deeper into the sugarcane field.
To construct an alibi, Alam Hussain ran onto the main road, threw himself to the ground, and began weeping hysterically to draw the attention of passing residents and locals. He claimed that four armed criminals on motorcycles had intercepted their bike near Khori-Pakad chimney, assaulted him physically, and forcibly carried his mother away along with the cash.
