Hitting cinema screens on October 2, the thriller 'Drishyam 3' has delivered massive ticket sales across domestic and international territories during its first three days. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the project marks the final installment of the hit franchise, reuniting lead actors Ajay Devgn and Tabu. Benefiting from wide audience reception and sustained praise for its narrative suspense, the film capitalized heavily on the extended weekend window to establish fresh commercial benchmarks.
Domestic Box Office Surges on Sunday
Following its opening on Friday, the film recorded steady commercial gains on Saturday, followed by an even larger turnout on Sunday. Screened across 17,323 shows nationwide on its third day of release, 'Drishyam 3' secured an estimated net collection of ₹61 crore on Sunday alone. This single-day haul propelled the domestic momentum significantly ahead of its Saturday figures.
With Sunday's additions accounted for, the movie's cumulative three-day net collection in India climbed to ₹176.50 crore. On a gross calculation basis, domestic box office receipts reached ₹211.80 crore across Indian theaters. The twist-heavy plot sustained strong attendance figures across both multiplexes and single-screen venues across the country.
Global Collections Reach ₹272.80 Crore
Parallel to the domestic response, the theatrical release maintained substantial momentum in overseas markets. On its third day, the film collected ₹20 crore gross from international screens. This lifted the total cumulative overseas gross collection to ₹61 crore over the three-day weekend run.
Combining India's gross earnings of ₹211.80 crore with the overseas tally of ₹61 crore, the worldwide gross revenue for 'Drishyam 3' reached ₹272.80 crore within three days. Reaching these milestones within 72 hours established the film as the fastest entry to breach the ₹100 crore benchmark in Ajay Devgn's acting career, alongside ranking as his highest career theatrical opener to date.
Cast Additions and Franchise Conclusion
In the preceding installment, 'Drishyam 2', actor Akshaye Khanna held a prominent role. While initial expectations anticipated his return for the third chapter, he was ultimately not featured in this release. Instead, the storyline incorporated new roles played by Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj. Working with these ensemble additions, director Abhishek Pathak structured a distinct narrative dynamic to bring the long-running thriller saga to its conclusion.
