Arriving in cinemas on October 2, Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has sparked an exceptional run at the ticket counters. The longstanding anticipation surrounding the Ajay Devgn led suspense franchise has translated into massive commercial momentum right from its theatrical debut. Opening on Friday with a record-setting 63 crore, the film registered the biggest opening day of Ajay Devgn's entire film career. Sustaining strong footfalls across circuits, the intense crime drama carried its box office dominance straight into Saturday.
Domestic Ticket Counters Cross 100 Crore Milestone
Featuring a powerhouse ensemble led by Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Tabu, and Jaideep Ahlawat, the movie is capitalising heavily on holiday attendance across theaters. Following an opening day net take of 62 crore in the domestic market, the production maintained high ticket volumes on day two. On its second day, the investigative thriller secured 53 crore in domestic net collections.
With this rapid intake, Drishyam 3 officially crossed into the coveted 100 crore club in just two days of release. The combined two-day domestic net total stands at 115.50 crore, which corresponds to an impressive domestic gross collection of 138.65 crore.
Global Box Office Crosses 177 Crore Gross
The film's theatrical reach has proven equally formidable across international territories. Alongside its 115.50 crore domestic net earnings, the worldwide gross total crossed 177 crore over the span of 48 hours.
In overseas markets, day two accounted for 20.00 crore in ticket sales, lifting the cumulative two-day international earnings to 38.50 crore. These receipts establish Drishyam 3 as the second-biggest opening title of the current release year, holding second position just behind Dhurandhar 2.
A Fresh Investigative Chapter for Vijay Salgaonkar
Serving as the third theatrical instalment in the thriller series, the film features Ajay Devgn stepping back into the shoes of Vijay Salgaonkar, while Tabu reprises her adversarial role as Meera Deshmukh. Returning cast members include Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, and Kamlesh Sawant, with the new chapter introducing Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj into critical narrative roles.
The central plot resumes the timeline following Vijay Salgaonkar's previous escape from police scrutiny. The storyline escalates as a newly assigned CBI officer takes charge of the long-standing probe, launching a relentless inquiry that pushes Salgaonkar and his protected family back into severe legal jeopardy.
Diverging from the Original Malayalam Source Material
Director Abhishek Pathak helmed the project, penning the screenplay alongside Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. While the first two Hindi adaptations adhered closely to the narrative blueprint established by the original Malayalam films, the creative team elected to take an entirely independent trajectory for this final entry. Ajay Devgn and director Abhishek Pathak determined that the Hindi timeline should conclude with an original resolution.
Consequently, Drishyam: The Conclusion serves as the sole entry in the Hindi cinematic series that does not adapt Mohanlal's Malayalam source narrative, particularly as filmmaker Jeethu Joseph had previously announced a fourth instalment for the original South Indian franchise.
