To ease travel during Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja, Indian Railways has launched two pairs of unreserved Amrit Bharat special trains connecting Surat and Madhubani.

In an effort to manage the massive passenger rush during the major festival period comprising Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja, Indian Railways has rolled out multiple holiday transit services. Thousands of migrant workers residing far from home across industrial hubs like Gujarat can now access dedicated connectivity back to Bihar. As part of this festive deployment, North Central Railway has arranged two pairs of Amrit Bharat special train services linking Udhna in Surat district with Jaynagar in Madhubani district.

Completely Unreserved Formation with 22 Coaches

A major relief for spontaneous travelers is that both special train services are designated as fully unreserved, eliminating the need to secure advance reservations prior to boarding. Each train will run with a total composition of 22 coaches. The rake incorporates 11 general class coaches alongside 8 sleeper class compartments. To meet operational and catering requirements on the long journey, the setup also features 1 SLRD coach and 1 pantry car.

The railway schedule indicates that departures originating from Udhna toward Jaynagar will operate on two consecutive Sundays, specifically on October 18 and October 25. For the return direction starting from Jaynagar back to Udhna, services are programmed to run on two consecutive Tuesdays, falling on October 20 and October 27. While operating on identical dates, each train pair has been given distinct departure slots to distribute passenger movement across different hours.

Shared Route and Stoppages Covering Strategic Junctions

Both Amrit Bharat specials will traverse an identical path across central and eastern railway networks, maintaining uniform commercial stops throughout the journey. En route, the trains will call at Vadodara, Ratlam, Nagda, Ujjain, and Sant Hirdaram Nagar. Progressing further, scheduled halts include Bina, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi, Govindpuri, Subedarganj, and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction. Inside Bihar, the services will halt at Danapur, Patliputra, Sonpur, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, and Madhubani before reaching their terminal point.

Timetable for Train Numbers 09073 and 09074

Under the first schedule, train number 09073 Udhna-Jaynagar Amrit Bharat special will leave Udhna on Sunday morning at 09:50 hours, arriving at Jaynagar at 05:30 hours on Tuesday. In the reverse direction, train number 09074 Jaynagar-Udhna Amrit Bharat special will depart Jaynagar on Tuesday at 09:00 hours in the morning, terminating at Udhna at 07:30 hours on Thursday.

Timetable for Train Numbers 09071 and 09072

The alternative service running as train number 09071 Udhna-Jaynagar Amrit Bharat special will start from Udhna on Sunday afternoon at 15:45 hours and reach Jaynagar by 11:30 hours on Tuesday. On its return trip, train number 09072 Jaynagar-Udhna Amrit Bharat special will commence from Jaynagar at 13:30 hours on Tuesday, completing its run at Udhna at 08:30 hours on Thursday morning.
