The scenic lake town of Nainital is currently buzzing with Bollywood activity as actors Janhvi Kapoor and Rhea Chakraborty have stationed themselves in the hill station for their upcoming cinematic venture. The duo is busy filming scenes for a romantic thriller project tentatively titled 'PN 36'. With film crews rolling cameras amid the tranquil mountain atmosphere, picturesque water bodies, and shifting hillside weather, the shoot has created noticeable excitement among local residents and visiting tourists alike.
Barefoot Temple Visit and Navratri Fast at Naina Devi Shrine
Marking the opening day of the Navratri festival on Sunday, Janhvi Kapoor observed a traditional religious fast and spent time offering prayers. At precisely 12:45 pm, accompanied by personal security personnel, she walked roughly 150 meters from her hotel to the historic Maa Naina Devi shrine. Dressed in simple attire, the actor entered the sacred premises barefoot from the parking zone. She conducted ceremonial prayers, took part in the traditional aarti, and performed rituals at the sanctum. Following the prayers, she walked around the courtyard and poured water over the Shivling to seek divine blessings.
Filming Romantic Sequences Across Scenic Hotel Properties
The production schedule has taken advantage of Nainital's pleasant, misty weather, using rain showers and cloud cover to stage key romantic song sequences. On October 10, both lead actors filmed crucial narrative scenes within the premises of the historic Swiss Hotel. Additionally, selected sequences were captured just beyond town limits at the Namah resort. Throughout this tight schedule, Janhvi has been residing at a local private hotel.
Early Morning Workout Session Maintained Despite Busy Call Sheets
Despite long production days and demanding travel between shooting locations, Janhvi stayed committed to her regular fitness regimen. Around 7:00 am on Sunday, she visited The Bulls Gym, owned by Shardool Negi and located along the ropeway path in the Mallital area. She spent extended time completing an intense workout session before heading to the film set. Her persistence in maintaining physical conditioning despite rigorous work schedules has drawn positive notice from local fitness enthusiasts in the town.
First Experience in Uttarakhand and Proposed Visit to Kainchi Dham
Reflecting on her stay, Janhvi noted that this trip marks her very first visit to Nainital, expressing admiration for the town's quiet charm, mountain backdrop, and refreshing climate. She explained that working in the region has given her a wonderful opportunity to experience local Himalayan culture and sample regional hill cuisine firsthand. Crew members also discussed tentative plans for both actors to take a brief hiatus from filming to explore neighbouring landscapes and offer prayers at the famed Kainchi Dham shrine dedicated to Neem Karoli Baba, though a definite itinerary for that visit has not yet been confirmed.
Umesh Bisht Directs Multi-Star Cast for Big-Screen Project
The romantic thriller 'PN 36' is being directed by filmmaker Umesh Bisht. Alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Rhea Chakraborty, the ensemble cast features popular South Indian actor Sreeleela as well as actor Siddharth Gupta in prominent roles. Nainital's natural landscapes have historically drawn cinema directors from Mumbai, and this latest multi-star production brings the scenic beauty of the lake town back to theatrical screens.
