Infrastructure and industrial development in Greater Noida and Yamuna City are poised for a massive transformation following key approvals from local authorities. During its 92nd board meeting, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) gave the green light to several high-profile projects designed to boost regional investments, attract global manufacturing, and generate large-scale employment opportunities.
Establishing a Taiwan City Across 300 Acres
A dedicated enclave known as Taiwan City will be developed across approximately 300 acres of land in Sector 6 of the YEIDA region, specifically tailored for enterprises originating from Taiwan. Given Taiwan's global leadership in electronics, semiconductors, ICT, and advanced manufacturing, this initiative is expected to build a complete industrial ecosystem for electronic goods in the area. Local youth will benefit from new job prospects, while regional suppliers and small businesses will gain entry into international supply chains. Further updates regarding these administrative decisions were also shared in a post on X.
A Massive 500-Acre Medical Hub
To position the region as a healthcare and research powerhouse, authorities plan to construct a sprawling medical hub spanning roughly 500 acres. This dedicated zone will feature hospitals, specialized clinics, clinical trial and research facilities, digital health infrastructure, along with biotechnology and pharmaceutical centers. In addition, a specialized pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing cluster covering 100 to 125 acres will come up within Sector 6. This cluster will accommodate industrial units engaged in producing essential medicines, including tablets, capsules, syrups, injections, and ointments.
Streamlining Medical Device Testing Locally
The board has also cleared a proposal to set up testing laboratories adhering to international benchmarks within the Medical Device Park. This facility aims to reduce the heavy reliance that domestic enterprises and MSMEs currently have on foreign laboratories for testing medical equipment. The upcoming testing center will offer comprehensive evaluations covering electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, mechanical performance, software validation, and packaging standards.
Expanding Educational and Sports Infrastructure
Beyond industrial and healthcare advancements, the developmental blueprint places significant emphasis on education and sports. A sprawling University Park spanning nearly 480 acres will be established in Sector 14, providing land allotments to prominent domestic and international academic institutions. Furthermore, Sector 23D will host an international-standard sports stadium spread across 50 acres. To improve public amenities, the board additionally approved a wholesale market spanning around 36 acres in Sector 34 and an inter-state bus terminus in Sector 23C.
