The unpredictability of life and the grim reality of road accidents struck the state of Chhattisgarh in a devastating manner. A fatal collision occurred on National Highway 30 near the Markatola Ghat area under the Purur police station limits in Balod district. The tragic incident claimed the lives of six individuals on the spot and left seven others severely injured after a speeding truck crashed into a group of DJ artists traveling from Kawardha district.
Stationary Vehicle Struck During Repairs
Around 15 people hailing from Kawardha district were heading towards Jagdalpur in a pickup vehicle to perform DJ duties. During the journey, their vehicle encountered a sudden breakdown near the Markatola Ghat. As the occupants parked the vehicle by the roadside and attempted to fix the mechanical issue, a speeding and out-of-control truck plowed directly into them. The impact was immensely severe, dragging the pickup truck for several meters down the road before the truck ultimately overturned on the roadside. The collision immediately triggered panic and cries for help at the scene.
Rescue Operations and Medical Treatment
Upon receiving information about the disaster, local police authorities rushed to the location to initiate rescue operations. Officers successfully extricated the victims trapped inside the pickup vehicle and rushed all the injured individuals to the hospital without delay. The bodies of the six deceased persons were sent for post-mortem examinations. Meanwhile, the seven injured survivors remain hospitalized under critical medical observation.
