Residents of the cultural hub Shivrinarayan in the Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh are set to receive major infrastructure upgrades following official declarations by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The regional connectivity network will see the construction of a new bridge spanning the Mahanadi river, planned at an investment exceeding 63 crore rupees. Preparatory technical surveys for the crossing have been mandated to initiate execution promptly. Alongside this transit link, municipal authorities are advancing plans to upgrade the town into a full municipal council, while integrating Shivrinarayan into the broader Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit to elevate its religious standing.
Enhanced Regional Transit Across the Mahanadi River
Given the cultural and spiritual prominence of Shivrinarayan across the state, public infrastructure is being aligned to meet rising footfall and the daily needs of the populace. The planned bridge over the Mahanadi river is scheduled to eliminate bottlenecks in vehicular movement between nearby towns and surrounding rural belts. Travelers currently forced to take extended detours to navigate across the riverbanks will gain direct transit access once the structure is completed. This improved road link is designed to enhance economic activity, streamline daily commuting, and shorten emergency travel times across neighboring zones.
Pollution Control Through a Dedicated Sewage Treatment Facility
To shield the Mahanadi river from municipal effluent, the administration has approved the setup of a dedicated STP plant (sewage treatment plant) in Shivrinarayan. The facility will treat urban wastewater before discharge, preventing environmental degradation and preserving the natural condition of the river waters. Highlighting the heritage of the pilgrimage site, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai remarked that the sacred soil was sanctified by the journey of Lord Shri Ram and honors the enduring legacy of Mata Shabari. He mentioned arriving with his wife to seek blessings at this landmark, describing it as an enduring emblem of devotion, cultural roots, and collective heritage.
Reopening 421 Closed Educational Institutions in Bastar
Addressing structural transformations across other regions of Chhattisgarh, the administration outlined major milestones achieved in the southern tribal belt. In the Bastar division, 421 schools that had previously ceased operations due to the disruption caused by Naxalism have been systematically reopened. In zones where insurgency once choked basic learning and stalled developmental outreach, local children are now returning to functional classrooms. Official policy continues to concentrate on establishing durable peace, community security, and sustained socio-economic infrastructure across Bastar and the entire state.
Citizen Grievance Redressal via 1076 Helpline and Seva Setu
Public service delivery has been reorganized through digital channels and streamlined grievance mechanisms, notably the round-the-clock Chief Minister Helpline 1076. Citizens can dial this number at any hour of the day to lodge grievances and register complaints regarding government services. Furthermore, the official Seva Setu portal now integrates more than 700 public services spanning 36 administrative departments. This centralized digital framework eliminates the need for citizens to make recurring physical visits to public offices for routine documentation, allowing households to secure administrative benefits directly from home.
