Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the Kasari Masari locality in Prayagraj will now be known as Shrikrishnapuri, speaking during the foundation stone laying ceremony for 602 housing units planned for underprivileged families. The residential project is coming up on land that had previously been freed from the illegal control of mafia Atiq Ahmed and his associates. The Chief Minister stated that the entire neighborhood will now undergo comprehensive transformation and planned urban development under its new identity.
Reclaimed 15 Bighas of Land Transformed from Stables to Public Housing
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath explained that changing the locality's identity is an integral part of ongoing urban redevelopment efforts. The 15 bighas of land had earlier been encroached upon by mafia Atiq Ahmed and his gang members to operate stables for their personal use. State authorities cleared the unlawful empire, reclaimed the government land, and repurposed it to provide durable shelter for lower-income households. The upcoming residential towers and modern township will form part of this newly designated Shrikrishnapuri enclave.
Modern Amenities and Infrastructure Planned by Development Authority
The Prayagraj Development Authority has been tasked with building essential civic infrastructure to support the upcoming housing complex. The township will incorporate an organized market complex for daily shopping, landscaped public parks, open grounds for sports, and modern fitness gym facilities. Emphasizing equal access to state welfare schemes, the Chief Minister noted that housing benefits are being distributed across the state transparently without any discrimination based on caste or background.
Governance, Rule of Law and Criticism of Past Administrations
Reflecting on the state of law and order, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath warned that organized extortion and mafia networks would no longer be tolerated in Prayagraj. He stated that anyone attempting to revive criminal syndicates would face severe legal destruction. Drawing a contrast with political rivals, he argued that while the Samajwadi Party patronized criminals and mafia during its tenure, the Bharatiya Janata Party has ushered in security, transparency, and progress. He noted that citizens of Uttar Pradesh previously suffered an identity crisis due to criminalization, but that the state's progress and stable governance have restored public dignity.
