A distressing and mysterious incident has been reported from the OYO Hotel Kunal located in the Kohka area of Bhilai. A 19-year-old resident of Camp area, Shadab Shaikh, had checked into a room with his 23-year-old girlfriend, but the night ended in tragedy with the discovery of his body the following morning. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death, which has raised several alarming questions.
Chronology of Events
According to the available details, Shadab Shaikh and his girlfriend arrived at the hotel on Tuesday at approximately 6:30 PM. During their stay, the couple consumed alcohol, which allegedly led to a heated argument between them. It is understood that after the dispute, the girlfriend fell asleep under the influence of alcohol. It is suspected that during this period, Shadab took his own life by hanging himself from the ceiling fan.
Involvement of Hotel Staff and Friends
The hotel management stated that around 11:00 PM, some of Shadab’s friends came to the hotel looking for him. They informed the staff that there had been a quarrel between the couple. Despite the staff knocking on the room door repeatedly, there was no response from inside. The next morning, at around 6:00 AM, when the young woman emerged from the room, she was questioned about Shadab’s whereabouts, to which she replied that he was sleeping.
Death Confirmed at Hospital
Around 9:00 AM, Shadab’s friends returned to the hotel and entered the room. Upon finding him on the bed, they rushed him to a private hospital. Doctors declared him dead upon arrival, noting that he had likely passed away three to four hours prior to reaching the facility. It has also emerged that the girlfriend had already lowered him from the noose during the night.
Police Investigation
Following the discovery, the local police have taken the woman into custody. Shadab Shaikh was a resident of the Camp-1 area of Bhilai. Authorities are currently conducting a rigorous interrogation of the girlfriend to determine the exact motive behind the dispute. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the police are investigating every aspect of the case to uncover the truth behind the fatality.
