Lucknow: A major fraudulent operation has come to light in Uttar Pradesh after 41 fake Ayurvedic doctors were busted during a systematic investigation. These individuals managed to register with the Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbi Systems of Medicine Board using counterfeit qualifications and were actively practicing medicine. Following the detection of this widespread deceit, the board has officially submitted a written complaint to the Lucknow Police to initiate criminal proceedings against all the accused individuals.
Rigorous Verification Ordered for Past 15 Years of Registrations
In the wake of this sprawling scandal, the board has issued strict directives to audit and scrutinize the credentials of all doctors registered over the preceding 15 years. Preliminary findings regarding the 41 individuals targeted for FIRs revealed that they utilized forged BAMS degrees from various institutions, fake mark sheets, fabricated internship certificates, and bogus NOC documents bearing the name of the Haryana Board of Indian Medicine. By submitting these completely fabricated papers, they successfully secured official board registration.
How the Deception Unfolded
As per established regulations, Unani and Ayurvedic practitioners in the state are required to register with the Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbi Systems of Medicine Board under the AYUSH department of the government. These individuals submitted their mark sheets, degrees, and supplemental paperwork to obtain their registrations. Although routine verifications were conducted at the time, subsequent complaints triggered formal inquiries. During these checks, the respective universities confirmed that the submitted degrees were entirely fraudulent. Consequently, the board has approached law enforcement to file formal charges.
Ministerial Reaction to the Scam
Weighing in on the controversy, Uttar Pradesh government minister Om Prakash Rajbhar stated that forged degrees were distributed on a large scale during the tenure of the previous Akhilesh Government, and the current administration is thoroughly investigating every single fake qualification.
