A disturbing incident of betrayal and violence has come to light from Khetalpur Bhasoli village under the Kotwali Dehat police jurisdiction in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. What initially appeared to be a case of suicide involving a young man named Sumit on August 31 has turned out to be a calculated murder. Investigators discovered that Sumit was killed by his wife and her brother-in-law, who subsequently suspended his body from the ceiling to misdirect the investigation. Thorough police probing and post-mortem findings ultimately unveiled the murder conspiracy.
Police Initiated Investigation Following Suicide Call
The incident unraveled on August 31 when local police received a phone call reporting that Sumit had committed suicide by hanging himself inside a room at his home in Khetalpur Bhasoli village. Upon receiving the information, a police team rushed to the scene, secured the area, and retrieved the body. Officials conducted preliminary formalities and dispatched the body for a post-mortem examination. At the scene, Sumit's wife claimed to the authorities that her husband had taken his own life, attempting to frame the tragic event as an unexpected suicide.
Post-Mortem Findings Contradicted Suicide Claim
The trajectory of the investigation shifted dramatically once medical examiners completed the post-mortem analysis. Autopsy findings and forensic observations indicated that the physical evidence did not align with a typical suicide by hanging. Medical details suggested that Sumit had died before his body was placed in the noose. Armed with this crucial medical insight, law enforcement officers intensified their interrogation of key family members and suspects, quickly breaking down the fabricated suicide narrative.
Illicit Relationship and Property Greed Motivated Crime
Providing details on the case, SP City Abhishek Pratap confirmed that the victim's wife, Kajal, and her brother-in-law, Umesh, were involved in an illicit relationship. Kajal and Sumit had been married for approximately three years and shared a two-year-old child. Over time, an affair developed between Kajal and Umesh. Motivated by a joint desire to remove Sumit from their path and seize his property rights, the duo conspired to execute his murder and conceal the crime under the guise of suicide.
Accused Taken into Custody as Village Expresses Shock
Following their plan, Kajal and Umesh killed Sumit on August 31 and immediately arranged the body to resemble a suicide. Kajal then dialed the police herself to report her husband's death in an effort to evade suspicion. Based on physical evidence and medical findings, police arrested both Kajal and Umesh. Formal legal charges have been framed, and criminal proceedings are underway. The brutal nature of the crime has sparked widespread shock and discussion throughout Khetalpur Bhasoli village.
